This is a map of Narnia I created with ~jl for his Chronicles of Narnia RPG. The vector objects (coastlines, rivers etc.) were done by me. JL did the shading and the labels. (Labels are in German as the RPG will be German-only at the moment).

The vector work was done with Campaign Cartographer III (Link) with their Mercator Style Set (Link) . We had to tweak things a bit and found out that it is really hard to use effects in this programme. Well, I learnt a bit that day.

Total time for the vector elements: 7 hours (including two crashes to desktop)

PS: You can order the RPG here All illustrations in the rule book were done by ~Senenta . Hope you can't wait to lay your hands on it :D Seriously, it looks just great

:-)

Anyone coming across this, there will be a BIG download version somewhen... the next weeks or so. Watch [link] or, more likely, [link]

Uh, and "Zahlindreh" is supposed to spell "Zalindreh" (I wonder if they found the time to correct this...)

Wow! Great work! ;)
But...an english version...? :P
Glad you like it.

As I didn't do the lettering ( ~jl did ) and the company doesn't have the rights to do an English version there will be no English version. Sorry. If you want to know the translation for any of the locations feel free to message me.
Oh, I understood the problem.
Thanks all, but you don't worry for transalation: I have a German dictionary in my room ;)
Tell me, if you need any help. I guess there are quite some place names which you won't find in a dictionary ;-)
You're so kind!
I've read all books of Narnia and some place names are most familiar in my head ;)

But...I think to buy Campaign Cartographer III :)
CC3 is a great tool. I mean, I have little skill and still this worked out well enough. On the other hand, it's a lot of money and once you've started you'll want to get all the add-ons. All so expensive. If you want to play around a bit with maps before buying CC try AutoRealm (autorealm.sourceforge.net). It's free and a bit more intuitive to use, not to mention stable. CC can give you a headache quite frequently. Of course, AutoRealm maps look nowhere near as good.
Very thanks! I just try Autorealm ;)
Do you think that is compatible with CC3's files? è_è
Nope, Autorealm is not compatible. It uses totally different file format. You can only save the maps in this format or as bitmaps, jpegs etc. None of which will help you should you decide to go over to CC3.

Still, it's a good way to find out whether you actually like to draw maps with a vector drawing programme.
